In partnership with ViiV Healthcare, Kin Folx: The Mother to Son Edition is a progressive and engaging podcast that transparently and vulnerably displays how mother son bonds can change health outcomes through meaningful conversations between mothers and sons. This first episode features hosts L'Monique King and her son Omari The Rebel but will engage numerous guests in navigating difficult conversations in subsequent episodes. Kin Folx debuted with a screening at a Charlotte theatre on August 20, 2024 - Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. This date was selected in an effort to bring attention to the disproportionate rate of HIV experienced in the U.S. Southeast impacting Black(and Latinx) men who have sex with men. With Health, HIV & PrEP Awareness as discussion fodder, the Kin Folx experience will allow you a glimpse into how mothers and sons engage in navigating difficult conversations on life, love, HIV and sexual health. Thank you for joining us in our efforts to spread health and wellness and Ending the Epidemic of HIV.
